Treasures Of The Web
Founder and Owner of Treasures Of The Web which started out in 2000 as an
on-line group, one of the first for men and women.
I like to think of Treasures Of The Web now as an award owner/award seeker support site. We list award programs currently in operation giving a picture/description of
the award, but also going a step further and showing a picture of the actual AP owner. Treasures Of The Web believes in high ethics and integrity in the
awards community and is striving to be one of the leaders in this area by starting the TOTW Evaluator Certification Program. Treasures Of The Web also
houses a Family Friendly Site program, an area we call The Coral Reef where
you can get graphics help, send greeting cards, etc., and we're also the home
of TOTW Treasured Web Awards (AS! 4.5, WA Sup 10).

BIO:
-
With a background in photography and art, I've found that I have an eye for
viewing and rating sites. I taught art - tole painting, country painting,
pen & ink drawing and woodburning - for Randolph Technical College for
several years. My photography background has been strictly as a hobbyist,
but my love for it runs deep. I started in 35m photography many years ago
and very nearly drove my husband crazy buying every camera I laid my eyes on,
including one for underwater photography. I've advanced to mostly digital
photography and now my 35mm sits lonely on the shelf. Digital photography
opened up a whole new world for me. Professionally, I'm an Executive
Assistant for a large corporation to whom I can give credit for a large
portion of my computer skills. A large part of my day is spent in preparing
Powerpoint shows used to present our products to our customers. This
experience has served to further the judging skills needed in website
evaluation.
Happily married for 25 years with 3 children, I've had my personal website,
Mothers of Addicts UNITED, for three years now which was started in an effort
to get support for myself in dealing with my daughter's drug problem. Since
then it has turned into a support site for parents or anyone dealing with the
problems associated with drug abuse in their own children or other loved
ones. Much of my time is spent there answering letters and doing whatever I
can to help other parents who are going through similar problems with their
own children.

Goal:
-
To do my part, whatever it takes, to rid the world of the drug problems that
are taking away the lives of our youth. I lost my own child to a
drug-related problem and would do anything to keep other parents from going
through the grief my family has suffered because of drugs. My goal in the
awards community is to do my part in maintaining a high code of ethics and
honor in the award programs that I'm associated with.
