Shadow Poetry
Shadow Poetry's heart is web published poetry and short stories from
armature poets/writers from all over the internet. Shadow Poetry also
offers interactive poetic activities, an art gallery, educational tools for
poets, newsletters, and publication for members and visitors alike. Marie
is the owner and webmaster of Shadow Poetry along side James (TimeShadow),
her husband. Shadow Poetry was founded in February of 2000 as a fun, free
place for poets to visit to share their poetry with the rest of the world.
The site was completely built by hand using HTML, Java Script, CGI
Scripting, and Perl.

BIO:

Marie is a 27-year-old and a mother of two. Shadow Poetry has become her
full-time job with updating information, managing the Shadow Poetry
interactive mailing lists, running poetry contests, and publishing the
"Shadow Series" (a collection of poetry by various authors) and chapbooks.
Marie has had many of her poems published in various poetry collection
volumes and now offers her poetry in her own chapbook collection. Marie has
built and maintains a few personal sites for other people, but she doesn't
do it for profit, but merely for the learning experience and the creation of
graphics (Marie loves art!).

Marie and the Shadow Poetry Dragonfly Awards (now retired) were once members
of CEM/CEMA, Apex, Website Awards Worksheet, Award Sites! (4.5), Webs Awards
(10+), GTA International (4 stars), UAG (Level 8), AECG, Supreme Awards (Top
5), and Absolute Project (Master Choice). Also, the Shadow Poetry site has
previously won over 450 prestigious awards such as Award Site's Hall of
Elite Site Award, Mesweet Platinum, the Gold Synapses Award, Superb! over
400 Awards Website, INet Gold & Ruby Awards, Gold Critic's Choice, Gold
World of Knowledge Award, Web Designers Arrow Award, Website Analyst Award,
El Fabi Universe Award, BTDesign Best Site Award, Arete Wave Award,
PeaceWork Gold, Ultraweb Level 3 Award, many site of the year/month awards, and more!
Previously evaluated for: Historic and Cultural Heritage Awards, Panda's
Pride Awards, and served on the CEM/CEMA Membership Panel.

Goal:

To help improve the writing capabilities of all the Shadow Poets by giving
them an outlet to learn and publish. Over the years, Marie has fulfilled
many goals: a) to publish poetry books, b) to become her own private
chapbook publisher, c) create and run an e-store for her books, and d) to be
a well known educational poetry site on the web.
